Final
Chris Quinn (South Winchester) has won the Senior Ladies English Amateur Championship having beaten Liz Boatman, local member 4&3 in the final.

The two finals set off in very wet and windy conditions. The finalists in the Championship Plate were ‘birthday girl’ Julia Sales (Kenwick Park) and Sue Westall (Copt Heath). After getting off to an excellent start by winning the first three holes Sue, went on to win the match 5/3.

The Championship final between Chris Quinn & Liz Boatman was a very close match for the first nine holes. Chris won the next three holes and although Liz fought back Chris won the match on the 15th hole.

As they finished the sun came out and the course looked its magnificent best under a clear blue sky. It has been an extremely friendly and happy tournament on a wonderful links course.

Quarter Final Results
In miserable conditions the quarter and semi finals were played at Trevose Golf Club. Chris Quinn (South Winchester) winning her matches 3&2 against Patricia West (Spalding) and 5&4 against Susan Gibb (Royal Cinque Ports).

Liz Boatman, the local member, continued her success beating Roz Page (Came Down) 3&2 and reaching the final with 5&4 win over Hilary Symth (Pannal). The stage is set for an excellent final tomorrow morning.

Second round Matchplay:
In the second round Chris Quinn had another good win 8&7 and Chris Stirling and Ross Page (Came Down) both in last years Senior Home International team won their matchs. Liz Boatman won a very exciting match with a birdie on the 20th hole.

First round Matchplay:
The first round of matchplay got underway with yet another variation on weather conditions, early blue skies giving way to clouds and the wind from the opposite direction. The leading qualifier Chris Quinn from South Winchester went through with a 5&3 win and Elizabeth Borrow (Corhampton) was 1 under par for the first nine and won her match 6&5.

Two England players Vivien Saunders (Cambridge Meridian) and Chris Stirling (Meon Valley) battled to the 18th where Chris had a birdie to win the match.

Local member and past Curtis Cup player and Captain Liz Boatman won 3&2.

Second round:
The second round of the Senior Ladies English Amateur Championship was played at Trevose Golf Club in glorious sunshine, with a stiff breeze today. Chris Quinn is the leading qualifier on 153. The cut came at 180 with the leading 32 qualifiers going through to the matchplay stages tomorrow. The defending champion Adele Mitchell is one of the qualifiers.

First round:
In extremely blustery conditions with a mixture of sunshine and heavy squally showers, sixty ladies battled their way round Trevose in the first round of the Senior English Ladies Close Amateur Championship. The course is in magnificent condition with the backdrop of a wild sea. The scoring has reflected the conditions and the leading score is 76 by Chris Quinn of South Winchester.
