Equity, Equal Opportunities And
Fair Treatment Policy Summary
The English Ladies’ Golf
Association (ELGA) aims to ensure that all people
irrespective of their age, gender, ability, race,
religion, ethnic origin, creed, colour, social status
or sexual orientation have a genuine and equal opportunity
to participate in women’s golf. That is, as
a beginner, player, official, or spectator.
It is the aim of ELGA to ensure
that all present members, potential members, and employees
of ELGA receive fair and equitable treatment. It is
therefore the aim of ELGA to provide all its services
in a way that is fair and equitable to everyone.
In its relationships with its
members and employees, and in the provision of its
services, ELGA also aims not to disadvantage any individual
by imposing any conditions or requirements that cannot
be justified.
In pursuance of this policy,
ELGA may take special measures or positive action
in favour of any group that is currently underrepresented
in its membership, representative bodies or its workforce.
ELGA reserves the right to
discipline any members or employees of ELGA who are
considered to have practiced any discrimination on
the grounds set out in the Policy.
The Policy will
be monitored and evaluated on an ongoing basis by
ELGA and the full policy is available from the ELGA
Office.
