Cheshire pair thwart Scots in
LGU Coronation Foursomes Grand Final at St Andrews

The Cheshire
partnership of Susan Dye and Jackie Hesketh from Delamere
Forest Golf Club won the Peugeot Ladies Golf Union
Coronation Foursomes over the Jubilee Course, St Andrews
on Monday.
On a cool day of intermittent rain for the 11 pairs
who won regional tests to qualify for the Grand Final
at the Home of Golf, Susan, who plays off three of
a handicap, and 18-handicapper Jackie had the winning
net score of 76 1/2 off half their combined handicap
(10 1/2).
Susan and Jackie, who won the regional eliminator
at Portal Golf Club on June 2, qualify to play in
next year's Weetabix British Women's Open pro-am at
Royal Birkdale Golf Club.
Carol Bates and Alison Carse from the Fereneze club,
Barrhead were runners-up with a net score of 78. They
had won the Ralston qualifier.
Another Scottish pairing, Northern Counties team player
Jenny Milne and Marion Thomson from the Elgin club,
finished third with a net score of 81. Jenny and Marion
had won the Edzell qualifying competition.
