Danielle Roseberry, England
student scores a success in US
07 October 2004
English student Danielle Roseberry
has just scored a top ten success on the US college
golf scene.
The 20-year-old from Sunderland
was 10th in the Price’s “Give ‘Em
Five” Intercollegiate tournament, hosted by
New Mexico State University, where she is a student.
Danielle’s scores of 75, 76,
75 on the Las Cruces course also helped her team into
fourth place in the competition, which was contested
by 17 colleges.
“She was thrilled to bits
and phoned home straight away,” reported mum,
Margaret Roseberry. “It’s her best finish
so far in a big competition there.”
Danielle, whose home club is Durham
City, has just started her third year at university,
where she is taking business studies and economics.
She’s a former England
girl international and this summer she reached the
quarter-finals of the English Mid-Amateur Championship
at Moor Park. Danielle is also a past Durham champion
and continues to play for her county, scoring eight
points out of a possible 10 in the 2004 county week
matches.
