A Child Protection Development
Officer for golf has been employed by the NSPCC but
the position has been jointly funded by the Governing
bodies of golf in this country
Vicki Bailey who has worked
most recently with the English and Wales Cricket Board
in a similar role took up her appointment on the 1st
April 2004. The purpose of the appointment is to promote
good practices within golf that will minimise the
risks of harm to children and younger people. The
project will initially be funded for three years by
golf organisationsa and located within, and managed
by the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit. The following
are supporting the initiative, The ELGA, WLGU, LGU,
EGU, WGU, R&A, PGA and Golf Foundation.
