England U18 girls lose to boys team

England 's U18 girls were beaten by the England U16 boys for the first time in four years when they lost 11-7 in a hard-fought match at Long Ashton Golf Club, Bristol.
Most of the points were closely contested with nine of the day's matches finishing on the 18 th and team captain Lisa Ball applauded a fighting performance by the girls.
“I was really impressed with the girls, they showed a lot of talent and potential,” she said. “A lot of them hadn't played at this level before and they did tremendously well. The standard of golf, particularly in the singles, was fantastic.”
The girls' most impressive winner was Hannah Burke who dismissed Darren Renwick 9/7. The Mid-Herts player won six of the first seven holes and closed out her match when she rolled in a 40-footer on the 11 th .
Hannah was the girls' top scorer with the maximum two points, followed by Woburn 's Nicole Whitmore who contributed 1½.

Nicole Whitmore ( Woburn ) & Sian James ( Bristol & Clifton ) halved with Jonathan Bell & Billy Downing. Girls 1½, Boys 4½.
