Chloe Court wins Astor Salver
14 June 2005

Goodwood’s Chloe Court won the Astor Salver at The Berkshire for the second time, finishing three shots clear of up-and-coming teenager, Hannah Barwood.

Chloe, who was losing finalist in the 2002 English championship, scored 75 on the Blue course and 74 on the Red for a three-over par total for the day. She also won this tournament in 2000 when she was in a tie for first place.

Fourteen-year-old Hannah Barwood (Knowle) opened with 74 but lost ground with a second round 78. She is a member ELGA’s Sport England, lottery-funded World Class training programme, with a place in the Elite potential girls’ squad.

Letchworth golfer Samathan Moore had a hole-in-one on the 159-yard par three 5th hole on the Red course.

Leading scores (Blue course first, CSS 73; Red CSS 74) 149 Chloe Court (Goodwood) 75, 74. 152 Hannah Barwood (Knowle) 74, 78. 153 Lucy Clarke (Chelmsford) 78, 75. 154 Fern Grimshaw (Weymouth) 73, 81. 155 Irene Brien (Wentworth) 78, 77.
