Harmon masterclass for English girls

Eight English girl golfers will attend a clinic with the world's No 1 coach, Butch Harmon, later this month.

Harmon and his three brothers, Dick, Bill and Craig, are hosting a Red Bull Mastersclass for 30 youngsters at St Andrews Bay in Scotland on May 30 and 31.

At the end of the clinic Butch will choose four players for a week's free tuition at the Harmon School of Golf in Houston , Texas.

The Harmon brothers launched the Red Bull Mastersclass in 2003. Last year, UK coaches nominated the young players; this year members of the public were invited to put forward the names of talented youngsters.

The English girls selected are: Alexandra Banham,15, ( Elton Furze, Northamptonshire), Hannah Barwood, 14, (Knowle, Gloucestershire), Kate Best, 15, (Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire), Kimberley Crooks, 14, (Hunley Hall, Yorkshire), Hannah Grant, 17, (Enmore Park, Somerset), Kiran Matharu, 16, (Cookridge Hall, Yorkshire), Chloe Oughton, 14, (Waltham Windmill, Lincolnshire), Tracey Willmont, 17, (Liphook, Hampshire).
