Joanne Hodge wins Harper Salver

England teenager Joanne Hodge won the Harper Salver
by four shots in the Bristol and District Lady Golfers’
Open Championship at Bath.
The 18-year-old from Knowle, Gloucestershire, carried
on the form which took her into the last 16 in the
British amateur championship and was four-under par
for the day, returning scores of 71 and 73.
Her closest rival was16-year-old Hannah Grant from
Enmore Park, near Bridgewater, who was the losing
finalist in the Somerset county championship.
England U13 champion Kelly Tidy from Manchester was
also in the prizes, returning a two-under par 72 in
the morning round.
Joanne and Kelly are both members of ELGA’s
Sport England, lottery-funded World Class training
programme. Joanne is in the Elite Potential Girls
squad, while Kelly is in the Select North squad.
