14th Liphook Scratch Cup

This prestigious event towards the end of the golfing season took place at Liphook on a glorious sunny autumn day. Attracting a talented field from all over the country and in all age groups from two 13 year olds to the middle aged!

Hampshire Champion, Elizabeth Bennett, aged 22, from Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club, playing off +1 handicap, came out the winner with a total over 36 holes of 143 on a count back from Fiona Smith (3) from Chelmsford . In third place was Sarah Attwood (2) from Gog Magog G.C. on 144 also on a countback, from Danni Gibb (4) of Rochester and Cobham.

In fifth place, also on 144 was Helen Batt (2) from Chart Hills.
13 year old Kelly Tidy, playing off 4, from Manchester won the 36-hole handicap prize with rounds of 72 and 67 for an aggregate net total of 139.

The winner complimented the condition of the golf course and obviously enjoyed a good day on the excellent fast greens.

In 2006 this event will take place on Saturday September 23rd.
