Nicole and Gemma shine in schools’ match 27 September
2005
Teenagers Nicole Whitmore and Gemma Parkes led the
English girls’ challenge in the weather-hit
schools’ international against Scotland at Glasgow
Gailes.
Nicole, from Buckinghamshire, and Gemma, from Leicestershire,
won their foursomes 4/3, despite strong winds and
torrential rain which forced the cancellation of the
afternoon singles.
When play was abandoned England trailed 2-1 after
the girls’ foursomes but had won the boys’
foursomes 3½-2½.

Murray & Michele Thomson lost to Gemma Parkes
(Leicestershire) & Nicole Whitmore (Buckinghamshire)
