Fine US results for England teenagers

England teenagers Kiran Matharu and Florentyna Parker have scored tip-top results in two prestigious junior tournaments in the USA .
Florentyna, 16, won the girls’ championship for the 16-18 age group in the Doral-Publix Junior Classic at the Doral Golf Resort in Miami .
She pipped Kiran in a play-off after they finished in a three-way tie for first place. In regulation play Florentyna had scores of 72, 70, 77 while Kiran shot 73, 71, 75.
Kiran, 16, went on to be runner-up in the Junior Orange Bowl International Championship at Biltmore Golf Club, Florida .
She was two-under par, scoring 71, 71, 72, 72, and was seven strokes behind the winner, Angela Park of the US (71, 70, 68, 70). Florentyna was joint ninth (74, 70, 75, 77).
Kiran (Cookridge Hall) was in England ’s winning teams in the 2005 European Girls’ Team Championships, the Girls’ International matches and the Home Internationals. She is also the Faldo Series girls’ champion.
Florentyna (Royal Birkdale) is based in Germany where her father is a golf club professional. She is an England girl international and her other credits for 2005 include reaching the semi-finals of the British Girls’ Championship and representing Europe in the Junior Solheim Cup in the USA .
Florentyna’s brother, Ben, scored a one-shot victory in the boys’ Orange Bowl championship
