ELGA invites golfers to have their say on the future
1 March 2006

ELGA is inviting lady golfers across England to take part in regional workshops to help shape the future of the association.

The first workshop will be held next Tuesday, March 14, in Exeter . It will be followed by others in Swindon on Thursday, March 16; Birmingham on Tuesday, March 28, Leeds on Friday, March 31; and London on Wednesday, April 5.

The workshops are part of ELGA’s modernisation review and they are designed to seek the views of a wide cross section of golfers, from members of divisional and county committees to past officials, players and members of proprietary, private and municipal golf clubs.

Pauline Perla , ELGA’s chief executive, said: “Attendance by as many people as possible would be most welcome to help the association shape its future.

“No specific experience is required for delegates to attend, everyone has a contribution to make as long as they are prepared to voice their views and opinions and enter into debate.”

Topics for discussion include the results of ELGA’s stakeholder survey which was conducted last autumn, the structure of ladies’ amateur golf in England , issues for the future, the role of ELGA and the LGU, and communication.

“These workshops will be crucial in determining both the strategic priorities for our game to the end of the decade and ELGA’s most appropriate role and structure in delivery,” said Pauline.

Anyone interested in attending a workshop should contact the ELGA office on 0121 456 2088 or email Pauline Perla, CEO direct on pauline@englishladiesgolf.org
